Everything in it traces back to the works below — the three anchor books, the research domains that corroborate or complicate them, and the places where the ideas can still be seen in the world. Where this document draws a conclusion, it is labelled as such; where it reports a claim, the claim is sourced here.

How this codex was built

A word on method, since the whole document lives or dies by it. This is a reconstruction: it takes a body of work written in idiosyncratic German a century ago, filtered through one devoted translator, and reads it line by line against what science has since established. Three rules governed every page.

Read the intuition generously

Where Schauberger described an effect he could observe but not explain, the codex asks first what real phenomenon was he pointing at? — before judging the explanation. This is how a folk term like "qualigen" becomes dissolved-load chemistry, or "biomagnetism" becomes surface electrochemistry. The instinct is given its fairest possible reading.

Test the mechanism ruthlessly

A generous reading of the intuition never softens the standard applied to the mechanism. Every device, every quantity, every causal claim is checked against mainstream physics, chemistry and hydrology, and the verdict is stated plainly — vindicated, open, or unsupported — with no thumb on the scale for a satisfying story.

Mark every border

The three-tier ledger appears on nearly every page for one reason: to keep the settled, the contested, and the discredited from bleeding into each other. Where the science is genuinely open, it is labelled open — not quietly promoted to fact, and not dismissed. The map is honest about where the known world ends.

The result is neither hagiography nor debunking. It is an attempt to answer a genuinely interesting question — how much of what this strange, self-taught forester saw in water turned out to be true? — with the care the question deserves. The short answer, documented across twenty-nine pages: far more than his critics assume, and far less than his believers claim. The exact border between those is the codex.

A note on method

Quotations from Schauberger are given as rendered in Coats’ translations; where this codex paraphrases or interprets, it says so. Scientific claims reflect mainstream understanding as of this writing and are noted where contested. This is a work of synthesis and reconstruction — a map drawn to be explored, with every uncertain border marked. Corrections and better sources are always welcome; the water, after all, is still teaching.
