IE–TE–023 · Octet-Stellation Analyzer

Working identification: an octahedral core with eight elongated triangular pyramids erected on the medial triangles of its faces. It has full cube/octahedron symmetry, but it is not the canonical regular octet cell.

What makes it unusual: the spike bases use the 12 edge midpoints of the central octahedron. Those 12 points are also the vertices of a half-scale cuboctahedron. Use Morph to regular octet to expand the medial bases into full tetrahedral face connections.

Exact edge-length families are in the ratio 1 : √3 : 2. The STL is topologically open because the eight medial base triangles are absent and their edges are not welded into the large octahedron faces. That appears structural rather than accidental.
