The Neon Circuit

A Web Audio port of neon_circuit.rb — a generative electronic system driven by three macros: energy, density, cutoff. Expanded with a Psytrance mode: 145 BPM, rolling offbeat bass, phrygian-dominant zaps, and eight-bar risers in the lineage of Goa full-on.

Goa · 138–145

The 90s root: layered oriental arpeggios in phrygian dominant, acid lines, epic melodic architecture. Astral Projection · Man With No Name · Pleiadians

Full-On · 140–148

Daytime brightness: the rolling kick–b–b–b engine, big lead climaxes, snare rolls into every drop. Astrix · early Infected Mushroom · Skazi

Progressive · 132–138

One fat round bass note on the offbeat instead of the roll — minimal, clean, endlessly groovy. Neelix · Phaxe · Morten Granau

Darkpsy · 148–158

Night music: tritone-shadowed scales, dense chaotic squelch, growling floors, effects that fall instead of rise. Kindzadza · Psykovsky · Cosmo

Forest · 148–152

The damp organic sibling — wonky bouncing bass, creature croaks and chirps, an ecosystem more than a melody. Derango · Atriohm · Fungus Funk

Hi-Tech · 160–175

Laser-precise digital mayhem: ultra-fast bass, glitch blips, displaced snares, everything quantized to a knife-edge. Highko · Necropsycho

The shared toolkit, emulated. Modern psytrance is built on Access Virus TI basses, Serum and Spire leads, hard sidechain compression, and OTT-style multiband squash. This desk emulates the family resemblance with filter-envelope sawtooth voices (the squelch), resonant dives (the zap), shaped gain pumping (the sidechain), and seeded probability (the endless variation).
